- Walau tetap melaksanakan eksekusi mati, Pemerintah Indonesia juga
menyampaikan duka cita kepada keluarga terpidana.
Hal
ini dibuktikan dengan Kedutaan Besar RI untuk Australia kedudukan di Canberra
menyampaikan simpati dan duka cita kepada keluarga besar duo maut Bali Nine
yang dieksekusi Andrew Chan dan Myuran Sukumaran.
Sebagaimana
dilansir dari laman resmi kedutaan, Duta Besar Luar Biasa RI untuk Australia
Nadjib Riphat Kesoema mengakui perasaan yang dialami pemerintah dan rakyat
negeri Kangguru atas upaya penegakan hukum terhadap kasus narkotika.
“Rakyat
dan pemerintah Indonesia menyampaikan simpati terhadap keluarga dan kawan kedua
mendiang ini adalah saat yang sulit dan penuh tantangan bagi hubungan
Indonesia-Australia,”Tulis Dubes Nadjib.

STATEMENT
FROM THE AMBASSADOR
Canberra,

Indonesia understands the views expressed by the people and government of
Australia on the law-enforcement measures taken against the two Bali Nine
drug-smuggling ring leaders.
2.
The Indonesian people and government express our sympathies to the families and
friends of the deceased.
3.
This is a difficult and challenging period for Australia-Indonesia relations.
4.
Good relation with Australia is very important for Indonesia. We trust that
good relation with Indonesia is also important for Australia. We remain
strongly committed to improve and strengthen our overall bilateral relations.
We trust that currently personal, cultural, business and academic links between
the peoples of Australia and Indonesia remain strong.

As we rebuild this important bilateral relation, we need the continued support
of the media for coverage and reporting that are proportional and objective. We
value the significant role of the media in helping to narrow the gap in
misunderstanding between the two peoples and to pursue the common interests of
Australia and Indonesia.
